I Need To Experience Texas

Is it possible to have your favorite place in the entire world be somewhere you’ve never been? That’s how I feel about Texas. No, I’ve never been there. I’ve visited New Mexico, I flew over in when I went from Fort Lauderdale to Denver, but I’ve never touched Texas soil. I continue to hear stories about the freest state in the union. Stories of sad country songs and cowboys. Stories of rodeo, Friday night football at the local high school, and a slow cooked brisket by a bonfire. But no, I’ve never been to the great state of Texas.

I’ve been a huge Cody Johnson fan since somewhere between 2013-2015. As I’m sure most of his older followers did, I was introduced to CoJo with “Diamond in my Pocket.” That led to some of my favorite songs, “Dance Her Home,” “Never Go Home Again,” and “Jesus Ain’t Watching” among many more. After having Cojo on repeat for months I decided to take a deeper dive into Texas. Surly if Cojo is a hidden gem, there had to be others, right? There absolutely are. At the time I got into Granger Smith and Aaron Watson, right before both dabbled in the mainstream success. More recently Texas has been on a heater with artists. Parker McCollum, Kolby Cooper, Corey Kent, and Casey Donahew are all on the way to being household names all over the country. The entire Texas country music industry is a sleeping giant, and as artists like Chase Rice, Ernest, and Warren Zeiders are even trying to develop styles made popular in the Lone Star State. The “Don’t Mess With Texas” playlist on apple music right now is my favorite, mixing national stars with up and coming artists like Austin Meade.

The music isn’t the only thing about Texas that I love, bull riding is the best. PBR is the best show on dirt. Anytime a human wants to sit on a 2000-pound animal who wants to kill you I’m in. Right now, my boy Andrew Alvidrez is sitting 5th in the world in the PBR standings. Jose Vitor Leme, maybe the greatest bull rider ever, is positioning himself to win a third world title in just four years. Someday I’ll make it out to the World Finals, but until then I’ll just have to settle for the events in New York around me.

General rodeo is badass as well. I’m certainly not knowledgably in it like I am PBR, but i watched Jimmy in Yellowstone one time. team roping is a sick event, two cowboys having to be perfectly in sync to knock down a calf as fast as possible. Its art to me. Barrell racing, which we do actually have around us up here in Connecticut is another favorite of mine. Rodeo is just sick because it’s all about teamwork between man and animal, or conquering animals trying to cause you harm, in a beautiful way.

I love the art of ranching as well. In forestry, we learn that there is a balance between art and science in writing a management plan. It’s the same as ranching, theres a balance between raising cattle in an efficient and practical way, but also still doing it the cowboy way. I love knowledge, and I love people that are able to maintain tradition while also evolving with the times. Obviously not every rancher is this way, some haven’t changed the way things are run since the 1800s. I also enjoy the romanticized parts of ranching. Last November, I sat in a hottub on a backpoarch, overlooking at least 100 head of cattle, with the mountains in the background. It unlocked a part of me that I never knew was there. I strive to someday own a ranch like that and feel that way again. Sure, its hardwork, but when you were raised on working hard everyday you can overcome that.

I’m sure Texas isn’t all glits and glamor. I’m sure that it’s a lot less like Broadway in Nashville and Yellowstone and much more of a grind. Still, I can’t imagine what its like to fire up the truck at 4 am, drive out to check the herd with Aaron Watson blasting out the speakers. Cowboy hat on the top and cowboy boots on the bottom. Then on Sunday going to a Rangers or Cowboys game to celebrate another hard week of work done. Can you love something you’ve never been apart of? Is Texas everything that I want it to be? Maybe someday I’ll find out, but for now, God Bless Texas.

CMT Music Awards Review

CMT Music Awards

Guess what, the CMT music awards were mostly wrong. They didn’t get it all wrong, but its shooting under 50% from the field. First off, its “fan voted” which is fine, but you’re telling me the fans didn’t vote Morgan Wallen into a single award? You’re telling me the fans didn’t want to see Hardy perform? CMT stands for Country Music Television and while they had their moments, I don’t think that’s true anymore. Let’s break down the CMT awards for all you need to know.

The Goods

Kelsea Ballerini’s Monologue

Anytime a tragedy happens, there are no answers on how to handle it. Kelsea delivered. The monologue was spot on. Kelsea did a great job holding back tears in dedicating the show to the kids that were killed by a deranged shooter. The CMT awards knew they had to deliver an event paying homage to the terrible murders of children, while also keeping it moving, they did just that, good Kelsea, and good job CMT.

Blake Shelton being a Jackass.

I don’t know why, but Blake’s performance starting out slower than he expected made me laugh. Him starting out saying I can’t see you Austin was classic Blake. His performance of “No Body” was spot on. Still, him just being classic Blake Shelton was hilarious, and a great start to follow-up Kelsea’s otherwise realistic but sad start to the CMT awards.

Ashley McBryde and Wynonna

The performance was good don’t get me wrong. Ashley looks good. I always loved Ashley as the tatted up badass who popped up at award shows. Now though, its skinny Ashely McBryde. I’m an overweight balding white dude, so all I can say is damnnnnnnn Ashley. She looks really good skinny. I’m happy for Ashley for losing weight, and her singing is still spot on for what we expect of her.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie can sing the alphabet and it would be a #1 hit. She performed “I Hate My Heart” and it was amazing. Carrie can’t do any wrong, and her wrong performance of a country song proved that.

Lainey Wilson

That ass. I mean Lainey can sing. She performed… a song and I loved looking at her… listening to it. Nah I mean Lainey singing “Heart Like a Truck” of course was hot…  I mean good. Go look at… I mean listen to the Beats Beer Bonfires 2023 Female Artist of the Year and tell me she shouldn’t win. Lainey is going to change country women for music in a way that hasn’t been seen since Carrie Underwood and “huge gulp” Taylor Shit (Swift?) Either way, Lainey is a stud and about to rule country music for a long time.

Cody Johnson

I mean what can I say. Was the awards show in Texas? It was. Cody Johnson. Is Cody Johnson the biggest name out of Texas ever? Yes? Cody Jonson. CoJo can sing, and the CMT upper management sucked him off for all of it. He won an award, he sung twice, and he was CoJo. That’s all I have to say about that.

The Bads

Tyler Hubbard

I mean, what the fuck are we doing here? Do we need to fill the Florida Georgia Line gap with a half a member of the band? I’d rather hear Brian Kelly. Not to be an asshole, but Mickey Guyton, Morgan Wallen, or Luke Combs would’ve been all better uses of my time. Can’t get them? How about Ernest, Hardy, Midland, or a singer IN YOUR BUILDING?!?!?!?!?! Fuck outta here CMT.

Gary Clark Jr.

I’m not sure who this is… moving on.

Carly Pearce

Idk I’m kinda over the Carly Pearce-Michael Ray breakup. I get it, he might’ve cheated on you? He’s an asshole? Sure, whatever you say. Maybe he’s an asshole, but I’m over it. Fine, you’re going to do a cover with someone else, that’s fantastic! Oh, its Gwen Stefani… ok. Carly is way better than this country music. Stop using her name and start using her actual talent. That’s all I got.

Texas Country Music

Well, the event was in Texas, right? So naturally Randy Rodgers Band, Aaron Watson, and Wade Bowen attended right? No? Fuck Aaron Watson was at a Taylor Swift concert. If you’re going to pretend to care about country music than ask country music artists to attend. Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew? I’m super happy Jelly Roll won, but maybe mix in Jelly with these other guys? Oh wait, they are all grinding in the fields while Kelsea and Kane are getting their hair done.

Conclusion

I’d probably give this award a 2/10. That’s probably singularly because of Jelly Roll winning. The show was a 2, and that’s only because Jelly Roll and Cody Johnson carried it. Let Ernest, Hardy, and the big hitters like Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen into the show and that changes. Kelsea’s monologue was a great start, but after that it went downhill. If I was in charge? Wallen, Combs, Hardy? CoJo rocked, but maybe some Watson, Randy Rogers, ect? What do I know but if you’re going to celebrate being in Texas celebrate Texas? That’s why I’m not in charge of the awards.

Country 92.5 Concert for Kids is Here!

I’m so fucking pumped to be in the crowd for the annual Country 92.5 Concert for Kids tonight. The lineup is absolutely badass. The venue, Cadillac Ranch, is my favorite bar in all of Connecticut. Most importantly they have plenty of cold (insert beer brand) that will be flowing. For these charity events, such as this one that I attended a few weeks ago, they pack the shit out of the place. I’m not sure that the fire department would be happy with how many bodies are in the place, but its for kids so it doesn’t matter… right? Also, if any 5 of the artists in this article read this, shots on me after the show.

Anyway, the event is run like an authentic Nashville writer round. 4 artists are up on the stage at once, just a guitar and a mic. They each take turn singing one of their songs, and then move down the line. Generally, each artist will sing 3 songs. Obviously, this varies, but I expect this to be how it works tonight. Like I mentioned, the lineup is stacked. Connecticut local and stud Jordan Oaks is going to open the show. Last time I went the opener performed a full hour, so Jordan will have plenty of time to make an impression on the audience. After Jordan, Meghan Patrick, George Birge, Shane Profitt, and Russell Dickerson are the “headliners.” Each of these artists are stars, or will be stars of the genre very soon. Let’s set each of these artists up, and I’ll promote the shit out of them until they like Beats Beer Bonfires.

Jordan Oaks, the CT boy, is up first. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Jordan before as he opened up for Brantley Gilbert a few months back. He went out on the stage and faced a few thousand people with just a guitar and his voice. He crushed. I quickly became a big fan of Jordan because of his set. Now it’s time for round two, and while the stage and audience might be smaller, the pressure of performing in front of the radio station surely won’t be any less. I expect Jordan to not only kill it but win a lot more fans over like he did to me last time I saw him.

Meghan Patrick might be the biggest name on the stage that no one has heard of. She is a superstar north of the boarder. For some reason though, American Radio doesn’t like to play the studs that come out of Canada. Hopefully Meghan can break that bad cycle. Meghan is a badass, half of her Instagram is dedicated to either hunting or shooting her bow. Get more girls like this on my radio and I’ll support the hell out of them every time. It’s worth noting that Meghan is married to a country music star, Mitchell Tenpenny. You might remember that my girlfriend actually met Mitchell in Nashville, when he was blackout drunk and she wasn’t to far behind. I’ve never seen Meghan live, and don’t know a ton about her music if I’m being honest, but I’m ready for the Cadillac Ranch to get rednecified when she takes the stage.

George Birge has been all over the map to get to this point. The Texan started his career with Waterloo Revival. They had mixed results over there time as a duo, but in 2021 George and his partner Cody Cooper decided to go different directions. George than struck gold, as he wrote a little parody song called “Beer Beer Truck Truck” based off a viral Instagram. The song caught fire, and George was on his way. Following that, George was apart of a duet with a moderately well-known artist named Nelly. The duo released a song called “Someone Somewhere” off of his Heartland album. Following that he released my personal favorite George Birge song, “That Drink” with the legendary Neal McCoy. Now George is working on his new single “Cowboys Talkin’” and I think it’s a smash. I’m excited to see what George performs tonight!

I’m a huge Shane Profitt guy. I honestly believe he slid right into the role Luke Combs left behind as the loveable deep voiced rednecky dude. Shane is only 22 years old, yet he has a top 20 country song with “How it Oughta Be” and its still rising. He has still yet to release a song I didn’t enjoy, but my favorite has to be “Country Boys.” I expect big things from Shane, and I expect him to be fantastic live. Let’s hope that we finally are getting a full album soon, and let’s see where Shane’s young career goes from here!

The “headliner” of the event is Russell Dickerson. Now I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest Russell Dickerson guy out there. Not to say I think he’s bad, he just tends to release a lot of love songs whereas those aren’t my cup of tea. That being said, I’m a sucker for an artist that can perform live. Russell is the definition of a grinder, and I respect the hell out of it. It took him a lot of work to go from opener for David Nail back in 2011 to being a major player in country music today. I’m sure I’ll sing every word of every song, and I’m sure I’ll be pleasantly surprised with Russell. Sidebar, I think he’s a hell of a dude. Everytime I hear an interview with him, he’s talking about how much he loves his wife and kids. I’ll never root against that guy.

Now that we are up to speed on the event, I have something to ask. We don’t want to be just another blog; we want to have fun with this thing. What should be include at the end of articles to make them better? Superlatives? Like who is the best drinker out of the group? (I’d bet George) Most likely to pay off your bar tab? (Russell) Should we do something else? Let us know! Also please don’t call me a hero, because i’m not… but I will be drinking a lot of beer tomorrow… for the kids ya no.

Dalton and the Sheriff’s Top 10 Songs

Thursday Thoughts with the Boots & Whiskey Podcast

Hey everyone!  Welcome back to another Thursday Thoughts here with the Boots & Whiskey Podcast.

Today we are brining you some of the best Dalton & The Sheriff’s songs according to me!

These guys are absolutely incredible and a Boston heavy act from playing Harborlights (or whatever it’s called this year) last summer to playing the beautiful new MGM Music Hall Fenway this coming Saturday (get your tickets now) to the Bell in Hand to Fete Music Hall in Providence to Nashville to shitty gigs in Mississippi, just to say they made the drive.  These guys have been everywhere!  Go see them whenever they are near you, or take the trip to New England, it will be worth it….trust me.

But here is our Top 10 Dalton & The Sheriff’s Songs:

PS) ‘Luckier By Half’ is the best album from anyone in the last 10 years, and no not just locally.  These songs could be interchanged anywhere.  They’re all great…but let’s try here.  I don’t think many of these will have a commentary.  I mostly want you to hear this music honestly.

10) Cheap Guitars

9) The Strummer

8) Cheap Seats

7) Take My Hand

6) Bones

5) Her Good Name

4) A Few More Almosts

3) Flying Blind

2)Boston

1) Sunday Nights

I honestly don’t have much to say about these songs because I think they say enough on their own.  The top 5 really hit me right in the feels because I feel it personally when I hear these songs.  I am curious as to what you think of them as well!  What songs did I miss?  What songs are on here do you think shouldn’t be?

I hope to see you all Saturday!  Feel free to say hey!

Cheers ya’ll

Chris Lane at Bold Point Park Review

Concert Review Time

Hey everyone!  Thanks for checking out this review of Chris Lane and Dalton & The Sheriff’s at Bold Point Park in East Providence RI!

As always, a HUGE thank you to our friends over there a Bold Point and Waterfront Concerts for having us at all these shows and letting us be a part of what they’re doing there.  We absolutely love this venue right on the water, great place to see a show with the city skyline behind you and a very intimate setting.  Absolutely love it!

We have already done a Chris Lane review earlier this year on our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cysjxAl5g3Q&t=1s … this was the first YouTube review we did…maybe we will get back there soon.  Probably should.

This show was much different than that.  No big production, nothing fancy.  There was smoke and such, but nothing crazy.  But we will get to Chris’s set here in a minute.

First, I wanted to talk about another band we have reviewed; Dalton & the Sheriff’s.  You can find that review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HKpXk_NG6Y .  Again another show that was completely different this time around.

Historically the guys in Dalton like to bust my chops about the over abundance of covers the first time I saw them.  Well, this time. Only 1 … and a half!  I saw the guys backstage before the show and it was the first thing, they said to me.  I found it pretty comical.  Before the show we got to hang and shoot the shit and catch up and I appreciate those guys so much for having me and letting me hang out, it was a blast.

With that being said, this review has NOTHING to do with our friendship or the way they treat me and have treated me.  But this was the best sounding live show I have seen in a long time.  Not for an opener or local (regional act) but everyone.  They were spot fucking on.

They opened the night with an hour long set too, that NEVER ever happens in these situations so I was psyched to hear and see that.  I know I said I was going to put in setlists for the reviews, unfortunately I don’t have one for them.  I guess I could have asked, but this article is too far gone and written to stop and start again or add it in.  Maybe we’ll add it to the article if we get it.

I will say, if you’re anywhere and they are too, GO SEE THEM!!!!  You won’t be disappointed.

After a relatively quick stage change, or maybe it was quick because I was socializing, it was time for Chris Lane.

The last time I saw him he was great.  High energy, great sound, so on and so forth.  Unfortunately, this time some of that was lacking.  The energy was there.  100% can not take that away. However, his voice sounded like shit.  It was horse and he sounded just sick, which he may have been but the vocal range was not there that night.  Not even close.  I made mention about it to a friend that saw him two nights later and said his voice was fine, so maybe it was just a bad night vocally.

The band was great, and we got some great photos as well!  Overall, the crowd was definitely into it which is always the point.

I do want to mention the set list and the timing of Chris’s set.  From what I gather, Bold Point as a 10PM curfew which is totally fine and great.  He went on at 8:10 ish and got off stage at exactly 9:30. A hour and twenty-minute headlining show.  Not to mention half of it was covers.  I bet you’re starting to see a pattern with me.  Chris Lane has several albums out with at least 10 songs on them.  PLAY YOUR ORIGINALS AS A HEADLINING ACT!!!!!

If you can’t get a full set of originals then please stop headlining and doing big tours.  You want to throw in one or two, fine!  Great!  But HALF THE SET?!?!

Anyway, I don’t want these reviews to sound negative because it isn’t I just have my preferences on set list choices for headliners haha.

Overall, it was nice to see Chris again and always great to see our friends in Dalton & the Sheriff’s.

We have some more shows coming so stay tuned for those reviews coming soon!

Till next time ya’ll Cheers!

Thank you all for reading along and listening to the show.  Check us out on Spotify, Apple Podcast, Amazon Music, iHeart Radio, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Twitter all of the above.  And check out our website at http://www.bootsandwhiskeyentertainment.com

Morgan Wallen and Hardy Concert Review

Concert Review Time

Hey everyone!  Thanks for checking out this review of The Dangerous Tour featuring Morgan Wallen, HARDY, and Kameron Marlowe.

I know I have been beating ya’ll over the head with all things Morgan Wallen and company lately, but this will be the last thing on it for a while.  Unless something major happens.

First a big thank you to Live Nation and Morgan Wallen’s team for having us out to the show on Thursday August 11, 2022 at the Xfinity Center (aka Great Woods) in Mansfield MA.  It was a great night and a nice 20K sell out for the guys.  Love to see a country show sell out here in Boston.

We got there a little early for some tailgate cheese burgers and some Miller Lites, because who doesn’t like to start a show that way?  After a couple burgers and libations, we made our way to the box office to pick up the tickets.  Now, we never know where the tickets will be.  For Tim McGraw we were in Section 8, small club shows we typically have General Admission which honestly, we could be sitting on the moon and we are just so humbled and appreciative of the opportunities to do all of this.  We get to the box office and we find out it was Morgan’s team that issued the tickets, so a big thank you there!  The seats were incredible as you can see from the photos below.

I had to get there in time for Kameron Marlowe.  I’ve been a big fan of his for a while now and although some things fell through with him this past weekend.  We won’t hold it against him.  We’ll still give a good review because it’s what is deserved.  I am teasing brother, but in all seriousness incredible to see him live.

Marlowe played 8 songs in total.  He played all of the songs most people would know if they listen to country music from ‘Sober as a Drunk’ to his biggest hit to date ‘Giving You Up’.  Every song and every line were delivered with ease and excitement.  It was nice to see such a great talent get the chance to open for such a huge tour.  I see Kameron really exploding in the next year or so.  Kameron is going on tour this fall and if he’s coming near you, he is a must see.  I would list out the setlist like I am going to do for the others, but I can’t find a reliable source on it, but if you have it, please let me know and we’ll update the article!

Now, do I need to tell you much about HARDY?  Everyone knows my new found love for this dude.  We saw him back in April acoustic and he killed.  The expectations were high here.  Needless to say, he did not disappoint.  Not one bit.  He played all the songs you would expect as you can see from the setlist below:

  1. Sold Out
  2. TRUCK
  3. BOOTS
  4. BOYFRIEND
  5. GIVE HEAVEN SOME HELL
  6. ONE BEER
  7. Jack
  8. REDNECKER
  9. God’s Country

(Blake Shelton cover)

  1. 4X4
  2. UNAPOLOGETICALLY COUNTRY AS HELL

This is a solid set by all means!  I am not sure he could have picked a better 11 songs.  Some songs I love were left off like ‘ROCK’ but it is what it is.  Can’t win them all.  HARDY’s full band energy is unmatched.  Absolutely unmatched.  This dude brings it every time to every show.  He may be the best song writer in the game right now.  He could have played two hours and never would have been upset about it.  He may have stole the show….shhhh wait, don’t be mad….keep reading and I will explain.

After HARDY, we had the man himself, Morgan Wallen.  I have to say, it was great to see Morgan on this huge tour.  His set was well orchestrated and the song choices were stellar.  He played for about 2 hours as well, which is another thing you don’t see much anymore.  Most headliners give us an hour and a half if we’re lucky.  From the looks of it, the set was the same every night, which is fine.  I get it.  The set that night was as followed: Thanks to setlist fm for the setlists.

  1. Up Down

As you can see, solid solid setlist for sure.  I would have liked to have seen a little more variety in the set, but when you have the biggest album in the universe, you play what’s off of that album.  Makes total sense to have the setlist this way, I am just being a shit.

I mentioned earlier, that HARDY stole the show.  He did, and I say this because one I think Hardy is a better song writer and overall better artist.  I like Morgan Wallen, don’t get me wrong, as any of you know who follow us, knows, I am big Team Wallen guy.  My biggest gripe and again, can’t do anything about it, is that this exact show is all over YouTube.  You could watch the whole thing start to finish and not see a different show.  I don’t understand the folks that go back-to-back nights of tours like this because that’s exactly what you get.  I am not saying it’s bad, I just wish there was a little variety night after night, but I get you can’t do that in a lot of cases on a major HUGE tour like this.  I don’t take that away from the performance at all, the performance and show were incredible.

Would I see Morgan again?  Absolutely!  Would I rather it in a smaller venue, yup!  But that’s also my preference too.  It will be a long ass time til we see Morgan Wallen in a small venue show and that’s amazing for him and a testament to his talent and success.  I look forward to seeing him again and again.

Thank you again to his team and to Live Nation and of course all of our friends at the Xfinity Center Mansfield.

Till next time ya’ll Cheers!

Is Cody Johnson the Modern King of Country Music?

Thursday Thoughts with the Boots & Whiskey Podcast

Hey everyone!  Welcome back to another Thursday Thoughts here with the Boots & Whiskey Podcast.

Today I want to talk about Cody Johnson.  COJO if you will and I will probably refer to him as such through this article.

Living in Massachusetts, we don’t get a healthy dose of what I call “authentic” country music.  We get pop country, which is great.  It has its place and, in these markets, out here, that’s what sells.  We have had COJO on the radio out here when he has had his radio hits with ‘Til You Can’t’ which was Number 1 a while ago as well as ‘On My Way To You’.  But that’s two songs out of his whole catalogue.  Two songs that although great, miss the absolute genius that this man is.

Cojo has been doing this thing for a while now.  Those of you who know his story, know his origins of being a real rodeo cowboy out of Texas and being an absolute bad ass.  If you haven’t yet, go check out ‘Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story’ I believe it’s still on Amazon Prime, definitely worth a watch.  It gives you his whole story, which I don’t have the memory to serve it justice.

Now, back to the lack of COJO in New England.  Some may say, “well he did open of Zac Brown Band” yes, he opened for ZBB.  That’s not a headlining ass kicking show.  To me this is where I am sure COJO shines.  Now mind you, I have never seen him live and hope to someday soon, but I can’t imagine an opening set from him would be the experience I am looking and hoping for.  If memory serves, he also opened for the King at Gillette Stadium as well when he was here a few years ago.  If you don’t know who the King is, then you don’t know Country Music.  Again, an opening slot, I am not interested in that, I want a full show.

Some may say I am being picky and you’re goddamn right.  If I am going to see who I consider the ‘new King’ of country music I am seeing a headlining show.  End of discussion.

I call Cojo the ‘New King of Country’ because I truly believe he is.  This guy is the real deal.  Just listen to his catalog of songs, every song is a country song even the radio songs.  They talk about life, love, and family.  It talks about day-to-day blue collar working man (or women) beer drinking, whiskey shootin’ America.  I LOVE IT!!!!

From the videos I have seen of his shows he’s also not afraid to speak his mind and give his thoughts.  I know I am being a bit of a hypocrite because I publicly say all the time, I don’t want to hear their thoughts and opinions, but the way he does it, and makes it come across is that we are all in this together regardless of views and beliefs and even though he has his, he’s accepting of others as well.  It’s fucking incredible!  More people should take this stance at their shows instead of living in their own bubbles and spewing their belief system onto their audience.  Let them decide what’s best for them.  Anyway, I am not going down this rabbit hole.

Cody carries himself with such grace and a reputation that exceeds that.  This man is what all country artists should be.  I mean that sincerely.  There’s no controversy, really, there’s no trax, there’s no bullshit in the music.  It’s clean, crisp, and country through and through.  It’s rock n roll … to a point … with songs that have a bigger message than I think we really can comprehend.

This New King of Country needs to start being taken more and more seriously all over the place.  Hell, I could be wrong and maybe he is, but I am going by what I see here in Massachusetts.  Regardless, COJO is the face of this genre to me, and he should be to all of us.

Cheers ya’ll
